To set up your Xverse wallet, you need to download the official software, create a new wallet, and securely back up your 12-word seed phrase. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes. Here is the step-by-step guide to setting it up on a mobile device or a desktop browser. Step 1: Download the Official App Only download Xverse from official sources to avoid phishing scams:
  • For Mobile (iOS / Android): Download the Xverse App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • For Desktop (Chrome / Brave / Edge): Download the Xverse Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Step 2: Create a New Wallet
  1. Open the Xverse app or browser extension.
  2. Click Create a New Wallet.
  3. Review and accept the Terms of Service.
Step 3: Back Up Your Seed Phrase (Most Critical Step) Your 12-word seed phrase is the only master key to your funds. If you lose it, or if your device breaks, you will lose your assets forever.
  1. Click Back Up Now when prompted.
  2. Write down the 12 words exactly as they appear and in the correct numerical order.
  3. Security Tip: Write them on physical paper. Never take a screenshot, save it in your notes app, or email it to yourself.
  4. Verify your phrase by selecting the words in the correct order on the next confirmation screen.
Step 4: Secure Your Wallet
  • Biometrics / PIN (Mobile): Set up FaceID, TouchID, or a secure 6-digit PIN to lock the app on your phone.
  • Password (Extension): Create a strong, unique password to unlock the extension on your computer.
Step 5: Locate Your Addresses Once the setup is complete, you will see your dashboard. Clicking Receive will reveal your distinct addresses for different Bitcoin assets:
  • Bitcoin (BTC): For standard Bitcoin transactions.
  • Ordinals & Runes: For digital collectibles and tokens.
  • Stacks (STX): For Stacks-based tokens and smart contracts.
